OK Guys, this one always confuses people.....GARAM MASALA.

This exotic sounding Indian spice is actually a mixture, which can include the following:

If you had access to whole and fresh spices, there is a more involved recipe, but here is the one that I usually make.  It's earthy, lemony, and gives a great flavor and aroma to any dish....especially Tandoori...Mmmmmmmmm.

GARAM MASALA

I actually take the "whole" versions of the above spices (whole coriander, whole black pepper corns, etc.), and run it all through a spice/coffee grinder...works great.  This spice is the "secret" ingredient in my jerky and gives it that delicious taste that no one can place....hehehe.

That's it...see, nothing scary, and TONS better than store-bought premixed Garam Masala.  Experiment with uses for this one...you'll start putting it in EVERYTHING.
